La recherche d’information santé hors ligne et en ligne chez les 18-34 ans : une étude exploratoire

Abstract
Cet article présente une recherche exploratoire de type qualitatif effectuée auprès des 18-34 ans. Elle porte sur leur utilisation des réseaux sociaux hors ligne et en ligne lors de leurs quêtes d’information santé. Cette génération de jeunes adultes n’ayant pas connu une société où les technologies numériques ne font pas partie intégrante de la trame quotidienne délaissent-ils les paradigmes de recherche traditionnelle priorisant la famille, les amis et les professionnels de la santé dans un contexte interpersonnel en face à face ? L’analyse d’entrevues semi-dirigées menées auprès de 21 personnes (dont la majorité se considère en santé) de la grande région de Montréal a permis de relever les facteurs motivant la recherche d’information santé, la démarche informative, l’utilisation et la perception des réseaux sociaux ainsi que la trajectoire de recherche. L’étude des verbatims recueillis donne des indications sur l’utilité et la pertinence des diverses sources d’information santé tant hors ligne qu’en ligne. La participation active dans les relations interpersonnelles s’avère plus manifeste hors ligne qu’en ligne.
