S’appuyant sur des documents sociohistoriques et des rapports technico-administratifs produits par une organisation appelée la suicidologie, l’auteure se propose de montrer ce qu’est aujourd’hui un centre de prévention-modèle québécois et comment se déploie un réseau de connaissances sur la prévention du suicide . Cette démarche débouche sur la découverte de l’accointance d’un mouvement technico-institutionalisé autour de « la santé » avec les organismes transgouvernementaux que sont l’Association internationale de prévention du suicide, l’organisation mondiale de la santé et l’organisation des Nations-Unies dont l’action commune forme un système de prévention. Ce faisant, l’article se termine par quelques considérations sur la nature d’un système de prévention du suicide dont la suicidologie est le promoteur déclaré.
