L'auteure met en perspective, dans cet article, les éléments du système de détermination en créole guadeloupéen, à travers la construction, la position et la signification des déterminants représentés dans ce créole antillais. Juliette Facthum Sainton examine à cette occasion la catégorie en tant que telle, ainsi que les structures du syntagme nominal lorsque le déterminant est antéposé au nom, mais aussi l'existence de l'indéfini, les constructions (directes et indirectes), et plus spécifiquement le déterminant -la postposé, pour ensuite aborder des questions plus transversales, dont elle détaille les différentes problématiques.
