Abstract
Résumé Cet article révèle les distinctions fondamentales entre les musées européens et nord-américains, qui permettent de mieux comprendre la nature des collections. Les musées nord-américains et plus particulièrement les musées québécois se caractérisent par une muséographie qui privilégie la mise en récit de l’histoire et de la culture. Nous tentons de dégager ce qui caractérise les objets de collections dans les musées de société nord-américains et nous explorons le concept de musealia qui permet de comprendre les liens entre les dimensions matérielles et immatérielles des objets.
