Abstract
La plupart des études qui traitent du syndicalisme des professionnels, et plus particulièrement des ingénieurs, illustrent des conflits de valeurs entre le statut de professionnel et celui de salarié. Dans cet article, basé sur une comparaison de deux associations d'ingénieurs, l'une strictement professionnelle et l'autre syndicale, l'auteur suggère d'élargir cette problématique en tenant compte de façon systématique des variables organisationnelles, notamment des orientations au pouvoir et des niveaux de projets individuels et collectifs. Cette méthode contribue à une interprétation du passage du professionnalisme au syndicalisme, plus fréquemment rencontré dans les entreprises publiques.
