Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Book description: This definitive catalogue is published to accompany a major V&A exhibition, the sequel to the hugely successful Age of Chivalry held at the Royal Academy in 1987. There is no other publication of this size and scope covering this important period of English art.
\nLeading medieval scholars have contributed essays on subjects which encompass all aspects of life in this vibrant and influential time in English history - from war and politics to royalty and patronage, religion and the relationship with Europe, music and architecture. A magnificent range of images present the very finest works of late medieval art, with architecture a major feature in a period when English churches and cathedrals were at their most splendid. Many of the remarkable surviving examples of stone work, wood carving, stained glass and gold and silver plate have been gathered together for the first time, creating a book of both scholarship and beauty.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
