Abstract
L’objectif de cet article est d’analyser les impacts de l’implantation d’une patinoire extérieure dans le quartier de Montréal-Nord sur le niveau d’activité physique des populations locales ainsi que sur différents éléments socio-identitaires. Cette recherche permet de démontrer que l’implantation d’un équipement sportif de proximité invite la population jeune à s’engager dans des pratiques physiques actives et renouvelle certaines formes d’appropriation territoriale. Cette étude expose également le fait que la construction d’une infrastructure sportive n’est pas suffisante pour attirer des pratiquants faiblement actifs ou inactifs. Il semble en effet nécessaire de corréler cet aménagement à différentes formes d’animation du site de pratique.
