Abstract
« Le Journal de La Présidente » est une chronique estivale, tenue de 1883 à 1899, à la bastide La Présidente (sur le plateau de Puyricard) par Madame Thérèse de Giraud d’Agaÿ et ses filles, Suzanne et Madeleine, dite Chichon. On précise d’abord en quoi l’écriture féminine est à l’unisson. On s’attache ensuite à en montrer les variations. Thérèse d’Agaÿ peut donner à la chronique un côté tout autant intime que mondain ; L’aînée, « Suzy » en 1889 et 1890 décrit avec son humour propre, certains « rites » de la société. Puis Chichon prend le relais, mais sa plume est plus caustique. Elle revendique un regard différent. Enfin, de 1895 à 1899, c’est le duo de Chichon avec son cousin Damien de Castelet qui donne toute son originalité au « Journal », les deux amis ayant entrepris de le relire et avec talent, de l’illustrer à quatre mains. Nous montrons les mécanismes de la transmission familiale et sociale. Ce « Journal » est un bon exemple d’héritage matrimonial qui témoigne du crédit accordé à l’écriture et à l’art.
