Estudo descritivo-exploratório que descreve as concepções dos profissionais de abrigo sobre a maternidade da adolescente abrigada e discute a atuação desses profissionais no auxílio à construção de uma maternidade saudável nesse grupo populacional. Analisou-se o conteúdo dos depoimentos de seis profissionais que trabalham com adolescentes institucionalizadas, cuja pesquisa ocorreu no período de dezembro de 2009 a janeiro de 2010. Os profissionais concebem a maternidade nesse grupo como algo precoce e prejudicial devido à imaturidade dessas jovens mães e, também, pela interrupção dos estudos; a atuação destes profissionais alterna-se entre a re-inserção social e cuidados com a maternidade dessas adolescentes. A ação dialógica, a problematização no enfrentamento da maternidade entre estas adolescentes, bem como sobre a saúde reprodutiva, sexual e planejamento familiar são estratégias propositivas para o alcance da promoção da saúde entre adolescentes abrigadas.
