La etologia ha sido sin duda pionera en percibir en el “engano” un instrumento heuristico. Modelizando las perspectivas, reduciendo a una forma perceptiva minima el “mundo” de cada especie, el “metodo de los enganos” desarrollado por esta disciplina permite suponer que las percepciones del ser vivo pueden adoptar formas sensibles, residuales y esquematicas. ?Que ocurre con el engano tal y como se manifiesta en las sociedades humanas? ?Que nos ensena sobre la relacion de estas ultimas con su entorno, sobre sus propias representaciones y sensibilidades? Partiendo del ejemplo de los pescadores Imrâgen de Mauritania, en los que se han centrado mis investigaciones doctorales, y acudiendo a otras fuentes, literarias y etnograficas, relacionadas con el mar, el presente articulo trata de comprender como el engano y la intencion que esta en su principio: la metis, forman la trama de una relacion privilegiada con el mundo y sus seres.
