Abstract
Automotive manufacturers expect tire suppliers to investigate alternative approaches of controlling the tire cavity resonance in vehicles other than changing the shape and design o f the tire.The intention o f this case study is to demonstrate such an approach in eliminating the tire cavity resonance by installing a sounddamping resonator on the wheel assembly.The predicted transmission loss for such a resonator model given in this paper is compared to the experimental result.In terms of quietness, the sound-attenuating resonator controls the cavity resonance and noise.However, this investigation should be extended to include multiple resonator units o f different dimensions to attenuate the cavity resonance at a wide range o f frequencies. s o m m a i r eLes fabricants automoteurs prvoient que les fournisseurs de pneu examinent des approches alternatives de contrler la rsonance de cavit de pneu dans les vhicules changeant autrement que la forme et la conception du pneu.L'intention de cette tude de cas sera oblig dmontrer telle une approche dans liminer la rsonance de cavit de pneu en installant un rsonateur de son-touffe sur l'assemble de roue.La perte prdite de transmission pour un tel rsonateur modle donn dans ce papier en comparaison du rsultat exprimental.Sur le plan de calme, le rsonateur de son-modre contrle la rsonance de cavit et le bruit.Cependant, cette investigation devrait tre tendue pour inclure les units de rsonateur multiples de dimensions diffrentes pour modrer la rsonance de cavit une gamme large de frquences.
