La plaine de Piolenc-Mornas (Vaucluse) est un ancien territoire inondable par le Rhône dont la reconquête est étudiée dans le cadre d’une étude d’optimisation de la gestion des zones d’expansion de crue. Au nom du principe de solidarité amont/aval, les gestionnaires envisagent la remise en eau de ce territoire, déjà marqué par de nombreuses infrastructures d’envergure nationale. Localement, les habitants ont appris à jouer avec les contraintes et les grands projets d’aménagement : quelle culture de l’arrangement se construit avec le temps au niveau local ? Au regard des enjeux du présent, comment la mémoire active du passé inondable de la plaine participe à la construction des représentations du territoire ? Comment toutes les pénétrantes en termes d’infrastructures ont participé à la transformation de la plaine rurale en une campagne moderne ? Enfin, comment le projet de remise en eau s’inscrit-il dans ce territoire ?
