Abstract

En 2010, une personne sur cinq dans le monde vivait dans une situation de pauvreté. La pauvreté est particulièrement marquée dans les zones rurales qui concentrent 70 % de la population « extrêmement pauvre ». Cette pauvreté représente une des principales causes d'exclusion socio-économique. L’approche du développement local repose sur le postulat que les acteurs locaux disposent de la capacité de générer des stratégies d'inclusion sociale qui permettent aux pauvres de sortir de leur condition. Cet article relate une expérience d'intervention dans une communauté mexicaine rurale, qui a entraîné une réduction de l'exclusion et la construction des bases nécessaires aux actions de développement local qui contribuent à la réduction pauvreté à long terme.
