L'incertitude qui règne dans le champ scientifique de la santé mentale, et la contestation de l'asile ont amené l'éclosion de thérapeutiques différentes. La structure actuelle du réseau et ses lacunes font en sorte que la continuité des services recherchée par la réforme Castonguay-Nepveu n'est pas achevée. La crise économique a posé à l'État la question de la modification de la prise en charge de l'hébergement de la clientèle en santé mentale. De nouveaux intervenants communautaires participent à ce virage. A travers ces changements, qu'en est-il de la continuité des services?
