Abstract
Weimar au XVIII e sicle est une de ces minuscules rsidences qui constituaient le Saint Empire Romain germanique. Pourtant, elle est devenue une ville symbole que l'on a appele l'Athnes du Nord , un des plus grands centres littraires et artistiques, le berceau du classicisme allemand. Cela grce la rencontre entre Goethe et le jeune duc Carl August de Saxe-Weimar qui l'invite sa cour. Lass de la vie bourgeoise qu'il menait Frankfurt, Goethe accepte l'invitation, estimant qu'une telle exprience valait la peine d'tre vcue. Il ne pensait peut-tre pas y finir ses jours !
