Abstract
O presente artigo visa descrever a experiencia da Associacao Carioca de Assistencia a Mucoviscidose (ACAM/RJ), frente ao trabalho desenvolvido com os portadores e familiares de Fibrose Cistica do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Embora a Associacao tenha 22 anos de existencia, somente nos ultimos seis a instituicao iniciou um trabalho de acompanhamento sistematico aos associados atraves de uma equipe multiprofissional, que tem por objetivo propiciar a melhora da qualidade de vida do paciente e sua familia. Apos a realizacao de uma pesquisa com o intuito de mapeamento do publico-alvo, foi identificado que os mesmos exigiam maior atencao no que tange a assistencia em virtude da situacao socioeconomica apresentada, visto que um percentual significativo se encontra em vulnerabilidade social. Sendo assim, a ACAM/RJ, hoje, dispoe de profissionais das especialidades: servico social, nutricao, fisioterapia e psicologia, que atuam de forma interdisciplinar junto aos pacientes e toda rede de assistencia.
