A paralisia de laringe e uma afeccao das vias aereas superiores que ocorre por falha completa ou parcial da funcionalidade mecânica das cartilagens aritenoides e cordas vocais em se abduzir na inspiracao. Em caes, a forma adquirida idiopatica e a mais comum, acometendo principalmente machos de meia idade a idosos, de racas grandes ou gigantes como nos Retrievers. Os sinais clinicos consistem em desconforto respiratorio leve a intenso. Seu tratamento e direcionado ao alivio da obstrucao laringea.
