Abstract
J’interviens depuis trois ans comme organisatrice communautaire dans la sous-région rurale La Petite Nation, au cœur de l’Outaouais. Lors d’une tournée pour mieux connaître le milieu, j’ai été mise en contact avec le réseau de familles d’accueil du Centre hospitalier psychiatrique Pierre-Janet de Hull, établi dans la Petite Nation. Suite à une initiative d’un comité de citoyens local, j’ai été impliquée avec les gens de trois villages dans l’implantation d’un atelier de travail et de loisirs pour les soixantes pensionnaires des huit familles d’accueil existant. C’est donc à travers mes lunettes de citoyenne de la Petite Nation, et d’animatrice sociale auprès du conseil d’administration de cet organisme, que je vous livrerai mon point de vue sur la situation des personnes hébergées en familles d’accueil, et sur la nécessité d’une ressource adaptée à leurs besoins et défendant leurs droits.
