Le travail politique ordinaire impliqué par la patrimonialisation d’un parc national, par son inscription sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO et par sa gouvernance, conduit les acteurs à tenter de s’arranger avec des cadres cognitifs divergents, des visions du territoire et des rapports sociaux en confrontation. Ce travail d’ajustement repose sur des médiations distribuées à des échelles multiples : locales, nationales, internationales. L’enquête présentée dans cet article a été menée entre 2011 et 2014 dans le cœur habité du parc national de l’île de La Réunion, auprès des agents et médiateurs du parc, de ses habitants, ainsi que d’agents de l’ONF (Office National des Forêts) habitant également dans le cœur du parc national.
