La maison est investie d’une charge symbolique importante en tant que microcosme de l’individu et de la societe dans laquelle il vit. En litterature acadienne, ce poids symbolique est accentue par la perte reelle et historique du territoire. Des cabanes de Pucois au phare d’Antonine Maillet; de l’escargot, qui porte sa maison sur son dos, aux lofts de France Daigle; des fonts baptismaux a la construction du Gite de Jean Babineau en passant par les nombreux appartements de Gerald Leblanc, il se trouve un bon nombre de niveaux ou d’etages dans les maisons du roman acadien contemporain. Dans tout ce foisonnement de representations d’habitacles, est-il possible de reconstituer une maison symboliquement complete comme l’entend Bachelard? Et quelles sont les valeurs symboliques rattachees a la maison dans ces textes? Une lecture mythanalytique inspiree de Durand et Bachelard releve des constellations semantiques fort revelatrices au sujet de la litterature acadienne contemporaine en evolution.
