Abstract
Au milieu du XIXe siècle, le typographe-imprimeur Victor Rozier devient rédacteur et éditeur de nombreuses publications destinées aux médecins de l’armée. Ses débuts dans le métier sont ceux d’un éditeur engagé dans un projet politique : la réforme du service de santé militaire. Cet aspect s’atténue considérablement avec le durcissement de la législation sur la presse sous le Second Empire, mais aussi avec le passage de Victor Rozier à l’édition officielle. L’extension progressive de ses activités montre une volonté de dominer l’ensemble du secteur très spécialisé qu’est l’édition médico-militaire. Son parcours témoigne des permanences et des transformations que connaît le monde de l’édition au cours du XIXe siècle.
