Abstract
Pour Aki Shimazaki, l’écriture ouvre avant tout une marche mentale où se conjuguent, de façon singulière, pensée, mémoire, secret et un dire atténué, presque jamais tout à fait direct dans lequel les intentions sont évasives et fondantes. Elle dénonce le rôle des apparences dans la culture japonaise, tout en se jouant de celles-ci. Dans un jeu de va-et-vient entre la mémoire et le dire, l’écrivaine appréhende un monde complexe où sont mis en question l’origine, la vérité, le mensonge, la culture et la tradition. L’auteure de cet article examine les modalités du passage entre la mémoire et le dire. Outre le contexte culturel spécifique, l’orientalisme de Shimazaki appartient au même titre à la littérature mondiale et à la littérature québécoise, qui s’entrecroisent aux mêmes préoccupations.
