Abstract
n France et au Québec, le conte est un outil qu'utilisent fréquemment les enseignants du primaire, surtout lors d'activités de lecture aux élèves 1 .C'est généralement à partir de l'écrit et des images (des albums) que les enfants accèdent à ce patrimoine littéraire.Pourtant, le conte relève d'une tradition orale, transmise de génération en génération, sans que l'on en connaisse le premier auteur.Parce qu'il stimule l'imagination, en raison de sa charge de significations apparentes et cachées, qu'il favorise la découverte de la langue et de sa beauté, et qu'il aide à mieux comprendre le monde et soi-même, le conte offre à l'enseignant toutes sortes de possibilités d'exploitation en classe.Après avoir défini le conte, nous présenterons deux activités pédagogiques, « La Maison de contes » et « L'heure du conte », axées sur sa spécificité orale.
