O presente ensaio busca trazer à tona o debate sobre o direito das pessoas com deficiências de viverem diversas possibilidades de lazer. Para tanto, é fundamental que a dimensão de inclusão esteja presente ao analisar a realidade da sociedade em suas variadas esferas. O lazer enquanto direito inalienável de todas as pessoas precisa ser tratado na contramão da lógica do mercado que o apresenta ora como uma mercadoria, ora como um mérito para quem já alcançou seu status e lugar no mundo do trabalho. As diversas possibilidades de lazer, como as atividades físico-esportivas, manuais, artísticas, intelectuais, sociais, turísticas e virtuais devem estar ao alcance das pessoas com deficiência, pois estas contribuem para seu processo de desenvolvimento pessoal e social e pode garantir processos de autonomia para quem dele participa.
