This study reports on the microstructure and dielectric properties of calcium and strontium solid solutions in bismuth-sodium-titanate (BNT) ceramics with composition Cax(Bi0.5Na0.5)1-xTiO3 and Sry(Bi0.5Na0.5)1-yTiO3, which exhibit morphotropic phase boundaries. The results showed, that the best dielectric properties in the high temperature region were obtained for × = 0.05 and y = 0.27 near room temperature. All the ceramic compositions exhibited a single-phase perovskite structure. Strontium additions lowered both the antiferoelectric phase transition temperature and Curie point. Further, substituting bismuth with lanthanum on the A site in both BNT-CT and BNT-ST systems yielded lower smaller grain size and lower dielectric loss, of BNT-based ceramics.
