Abstract
La schizophrénie serait due avant tout à un désordre biochimique et par conséquent le traitement devrait avant tout être d'ordre psychopharmacologique. L'auteur examine les recherches les plus importantes faites à ce sujet pour montrer les lacunes tant au plan des théories étiologiques que des méthodes de traitement, avant tout centrées sur les aspects biochimiques. Les schizophrènes ne sont pas guéris et ils sont à peine soignés, puisque la pensée délirante et le mode de vie psychotique restent présents pendant de longues années. La schizophrénie met en échec le savoir et le pouvoir des thérapeutes en raison de son caractère inexplicable et irréductible.
