Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The article discusses Armenian diaspora culture in terms of the interior of people's homes and, more specifically, objects and how they are placed in the home. The studyfocusses on a variety of objects associated with a family's and a community's history. These objects are from the present and the past, and may be of great or little value, but their common feature is that they are treated with a special affection related to memory, belonging and identity. Moving beyond a simple descriptive analysis, the author examines the objects' probable functions using an external qualification test based on the functions attributed by the owners and an internal test based on the functions specific to the objects themselves. By tracing the objects' histories, we can see their relationships with their owners at different stages of ownership, loss and reappearance. These explorations reveal a heritage special to the diaspora and the role that it can play in the lives of individuals and communities living far from their countries of origin.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
