Abstract
L'université québécoise est analysée dans son rôle historique de production des classes dirigeantes, en particulier francophones. Dans cette perspective, sont revues l'intervention de l'État provincial dans la mise sur pied d'un enseignement supérieur spécialisé depuis le début du siècle et la crise de l'enseignement collégial après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Les auteurs s'arrêtent ensuite à la réforme de l'enseignement des années 1960 et à ses suites au niveau de l'enseignement supérieur. Ils concluent que, malgré cette réforme, dans le champ universitaire québécois, les places prises par différentes classes sociales de même que celles réservées aux francophones et anglophones n'ont pas été profondément modifiées.
