Abstract
Manuel Castells nacio en Hellin (Albacete. Espana) en 1942. Licenciado en Derecho y Economia por la Universidad de Barcelona, cuando cursaba estos estudios, huyo a Paris debido a su militancia antifranquista. Doctor en Sociologia por la Universidad de Paris, ha sido investigador en el Laboratoire de Sociologie Industrielle (Universidad de Paris), profesor de la Universidad de Paris-Nanterre, profesor y consultor de la UNESCO en la Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, profesor en el Departamento de Sociologia de la Universidad de Montreal, profesor visitante en el Centro de Desarrollo Urbano de la Universidad Catolica de Chile y profesor en la Universidad de Wisconsin (EE UU). Durante la decada de los setenta ha sido profesor y catedratico de Sociologia en la Ecole Pratique de Hautes Etudes (Sorbonne, Paris).
