En 2003, le ministère de l’Éducation du Québec faisait paraître une politique sur l’évaluation des apprentissages en milieu scolaire. Il fallait alors tenir compte des approches pédagogiques qui sous-tendaient le nouveau curriculum (notamment le socioconstructivisme), du mode d’organisation en matière de compétences, de la réorganisation du cursus amenée par la notion de cycle et de la redéfinition des rôles des divers acteurs. Après plus de dix années marquées par de nombreux questionnements, certaines incohérences apparaissent entre les pratiques mises en place et les orientations de la politique. On observe que celle-ci s’est déployée avec l’appui de documents complémentaires et de modifications aux règlements qui en précisent et parfois en réduisent la portée.
