Abstract
Method and Meaning in Canadian Environmental History is an undergraduate reader that traces the relationship between nature and culture in our nation's past. Additionally, as a series of all-new essays written directly to undergraduates, it allows leading scholars to display and discuss how they do historical research. The readings offer broad temporal coverage, with case studies ranging from prehistory to the present, as well as wide geographic coverage over the community, provincial, regional and national scales. The text has a special emphasis on relating environmental history to the broader national narrative.
