Estudio seroepidemiológico en un criadero canino para evaluar la respuesta en anticuerpos frente a Leptospira spp

Abstract
Se realizo un estudio seroepidemiologico entre mayo y julio del 2003, en un criadero canino de Huesca (nordeste de Espana) para evaluar el titulo de anticuerpos frente a leptospiras (LPT). Se analizaron 207 perros de razas Golden Retriever (GR), Labrador Retriever (LR) y Perro de Montana del Pirineo (PM) (80 adultos y 127 cachorros). Se recogieron muestras de suero secuencialmente en cachorros: a las 6 semanas de edad (D0), a las 8 semanas de edad (D1, primera vacunacion de LPT), a las 10 o 12 semanas (D2, segunda vacunacion), y a las 2-4 semanas de la anterior (D3, tercera vacunacion). Todas las vacunas eran polivalentes. Los perros adultos eran vacunados anualmente en abril con una vacuna pentavalente. El suero se extrajo en julio. Se uso la tecnica Elisa para detectar Acs IgG frente a LPT. Los resultados se analizaron estadisticamente con elprograma Epi-Info. La media de titulo de Acs de los adultos (7,7 Log2, 1/208) era superior a la de los cachorros (5,6 Log2, 1/49), (p = 0,0000). Se encontro asociacion entre el genero y el titulo de Acs (p ≤ 0,05), siendo mas elevado en las hembras adultas. En los cachorros, el momento de la extraccion estaba asociado con diferencias en el titulo de Acs (p ≤ 0,05). Entre las 6 y 8 semanas de edad, se observo un ligero aumento del titulo de Acs sin estar vacunados. Puede que los cachorros hubieran contactado con leptospiras del entorno. Tras la vacunacion, se observo seroconversion parcial. La razaGR mostro mejor respuesta a la primera vacunacion.
