Abstract
The twentieth century saw the rise and fall of industrial citizenship . The essence of the “embedding” phase of that transformation was the advance of labor-based entitlements, which was a type of labor decommodification. 1 In the last quarter of the century, those entitlements were eroded almost everywhere, marking the demise of industrial citizenship.
