Abstract
Résumé L’auteur souligne les concordances et les influences réciproques entre la France et le Québec quant aux rôles respectifs de l’État et de la famille auprès des personnes âgées dépendantes. Les deux acteurs, au plan des réalités de terrain, loin de s’opposer, travaillent au contraire en synergie dans chacun des pays. Les différences portent davantage sur les représentations et sur les conceptions du rôle de l’État, ainsi que sur la place des associations (en France) et des communautés (au Québec). Sur ce dernier point, des rapprochements sont d’ailleurs possibles.
