Abstract
Dans leur analyse des aspects transgresseurs des oeuvres de Frida Kahlo, peintre, et de Paquita la del Barrio, chanteuse, touchant les rapports sociaux de genre qui existent dans la société mexicaine, les auteures examinent la complexité de la relation qui unit la production artistique et la légitimation symbolique du génie et du vécu des femmes. En dénonçant les souffrances que provoque l’infidélité masculine, en présentant la maternité dans ses aspects les plus sombres et en abordant leurs propres désirs sexuels, non seulement ces deux artistes témoignent de leur dissidence personnelle à l’égard des diktats socioculturels de leur époque, mais elles construisent un nouveau langage, des images et des mots pour nommer, voire dénoncer, des réalités féminines jusque-là gardées sous silence parce qu’elles étaient considérées comme trop obscures.
