Abstract

The zero-current-switched quasi-resonant Sepic convertor used as a resistance emulator in a power factor preregulator presents several advantages over other standard topologies, such as the presence of an inductance connected directly to the source of input, and operation in buck-and-boost mode. The range of variation of switching frequency is shown to be optimised in such a topology. Full-wave and half-wave operations are considered. The results are given of simulation and experiment on a prototype of reduced power.
