Abstract
C’est à la « syntaxe » de Beaulieu, et ce autour du recueil Variables, que Claude Filteau s’intéresse dans cet article. En lisant les poèmes de Beaulieu du point de vue de l’énonciation, comme le suggère Henri Meschonnic, on remarque le rôle important que joue la pause au plan rythmique-sémantique dans l’organisation du poème. Beaulieu est soucieux de préserver un certain humanisme qui se remarque dans sa hantise de la mort. C’est sans doute ce qui explique que Beaulieu pousse à son terme ce que Meschonnic relève chez Maurice Scève (ce dernier étant comparé à Beaulieu dans la postface de Georges-André Vachon à Variables) : « l’histoire d’un sujet non-sujet : il ». Mais Beaulieu entend aussi « faire une poésie à partir de sensations ». Ce sont donc les rapports qui existent dans Variables entre la chair, le corps et le coeur dans le vécu émotionnel qui font le lyrisme du poème étudiés ici dans Variables et dans certains poèmes de Kaléidoscope.
