Abstract
Le projet intellectuel de Marcel Gauchet consiste en l'élaboration de ce qu'il nomme une « anthroposociologie transcendantale ». Par là, Gauchet entend l'invention de concepts et la production d'analyses visant à rendre compte des conditions de possibilité de l'humanité socialisée, autrement dit, de la vie en société. C'est à l'examen de quelques-uns des concepts de l'anthroposociologie transcendantale et à leurs prolongements que je me consacre dans ces pages: « Institution symbolique », « Loi », « Décision sans sujet ». Ces concepts orientent non seulement la recherche menée par Gauchet mais également, à mon sens, sont porteurs d'une dimension normative qu'il faut interroger. Mon hypothèse est que ces concepts peuvent être associés à deux philosophies de l'histoire qui se contredisent l'une l'autre.
