Abstract
Este artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre o papel da ABECAN e de seus centros de estudos nos anos 1990, desde sua fundação até o início do século XXI. Baseado essencial- mente no período 1995-1999, ele destaca os principais atores que se dedicaram a construir a nova associação. Ao mesmo tempo análise e memória, o artigo tenta também enfatizar a diversidade das pesquisas, as atividades desenvolvidas e o apoio recebido por parte das universidades brasileiras, da Embaixada do Canadá no Brasil e do governo do Quebec.Palavras-chave: primórdios; política intercultural; expansão; divulgação; consolidaçãoAbstract: This article proposes a reflection about ABECAN´s role in the nineties, from its foundation to the early XXI century.
