Abstract
En contra del globalismo de izquierda que arguye que las fuerzas de la globalizacin han debilitado fundamentalmente a los Estados-nacin, aqu se propone que esta esfera sigue siendo crtica, tanto para la imposicin de los intereses de las clases dominantes, como para la resistencia y construccin de una alternativa popular-democrtica. En la medida en que las races de las organizaciones sean locales, podrn enfocarse en los temas ambientales y socioeconmicos especficos de sus localidades, y podrn desarrollar mecanismos de participacin democrticos. La prctica del Ejercito Zapatista de Liberacin Nacional (Mxico) se usa como ilustracin de esta alternativa de poltica popular-democrtica impulsada desde abajo.
