Abstract
La population francaise du Canada aux XVIIe et XVIIe siecles offre sans doute les documents les plus complets qui existent sur une population de cette epoque. Les travaux de M. J. Henripin ont ouvert la voie a une serie de recherches poursuivies aujourd'hui avec des moyens mecanographiques importants. MM. Hubert Charbonneau et Jacques Legare qui enseignent au departement de demographie de l'Universite de Montreal, presentent ici les recensements de 1666 et 1667, lesquels constituent sans doute les premiers documents dans les temps modernes meritant le nom de recensement.
