Abstract
Cet article présente une synthèse des recherches accomplies sur le lexique du français louisianais et l’influence de l’anglo-américain sur celui-ci. L’extrême complexité de l’histoire linguistique louisianaise a mené à un bilinguisme très instable, qui tend aujourd’hui au monolinguisme anglais. Les facteurs internes et externes de l’américanisation, discutés dans cet article, ont mené à l’anglicisation du lexique franco-louisianais et à l’abandon progressif (mais pas encore complet) du français.
