Quartier et lien social : des pratiques individuelles à l'action collective

Abstract
Dans un contexte de restructurations économiques, de remise en cause de l'État providence, d'aggravation des phénomènes d'exclusion sociale et d'intensification de l'action collective territorialisée, il nous semble opportun de nous pencher sur la place qu'occupe aujourd'hui le quartier dans l'établissement de liens individuels et collectifs. Après avoir cerné la notion de quartier, nous abordons cet espace en rapport avec les pratiques individuelles et le lien social. Puis nous nous penchons sur le réfèrent territorial que le quartier représente pour l'action collective et sur l'apport de cette dernière à deux aspects du lien socio-spatial, soit la proximité et l'identité. Nous concluons en faisant ressortir le décalage qui existerait entre le quartier, espace subjective de pratiques quotidiennes des individus, et le quartier, territoire objectivé de l'action collective.
