Abstract
Isabella est victime d’un chantage sexuel quand elle sollicite auprès d’Angelo la grâce de son frère. Cette contrainte psychique est une forme de viol. Stigmatisée, la victime peut avoir une réaction dominée par la honte, le silence, l’auto-dépréciation, voire le suicide comme Lucrèce. D’autres peuvent se venger directement comme Titus Andronicus et sa fille Lavinia. Dans Mesure pour mesure, écrite quelques douze années après cette première tragédie de vengeance, Isabella ose, Isabella ose protester publiquement contre son agresseur et réclamer, par la loi, justice. Shakespeare compare cette expérience traumatique à un arbre dont on ôte l’écorce. Au début, Isabella invoque une figure paternelle cruelle et déshumanisée, superficiellement incorporée. Ensuite, grâce au soutien patient du Moine-Duc, elle peut élaborer une figure paternelle introjectée, d’après le modèle proposé par les psychanalystes français Nicolas Abraham et Maria Torok. Ce soutien transférentiel permet à Isabella de résister à la stigmatisation des victimes de violence sexuelle.
