Abstract
Cet article analyse la catégorie " jeunesse " comme construction sociale du discours sociopolitique institutionnel fédéral au Canada. L'examen d'un corpus de textes gouvernementaux y définissant la jeunesse comme cible d'interventions entre 1965 et 1989, a révélé des glissements de sens successifs, faisant des jeunes une catégorie d'âge continuellement reconstruite. En tant qu'objet sociologique, la jeunesse est ici analysée en rapport à l'adultéité déclinante, entité implicite et résiduelle se modelant entre les constructions de la jeunesse et celles de la vieillesse, comme catégories de l'échelle des âges.
