Abstract
El prop?sito del presente art?culo es establecer un marco interpretativo de las Generaciones y semblanzas de Fern?n P?rez de Guzm?n (m. 1460), de acuerdo con horizontes de expectativas medievales, a saber, la psicolog?a y la cultura mnem?nica contempor?neas. Se demuestra la importancia de estos horizontes mediante una comparaci?n con un modelo hasta hoy ignorado: la Historia destructionis Troiae de Guido de Columnis. Guido le proporcion? a P?rez de Guzm?n un modelo estructural y tem?tico, es decir, el patr?n de un registro nobiliario, y el m?todo de escribir en el coraz?n, o sea, la transcripci?n de im?genes mnem?nicas previamen te memorizadas por un testigo de vista fidedigno. De ah? que las semblanzas de P?rez de Guzm?n constituyan un repertorio geneal?gico f?cil de memorizar con la finalidad de que la nobleza nueva tenga la posibilidad de reclamar y asegurar su poder en una ?poca de crisis de la historiograf?a oficial castellana.
