Abstract
El tema del seguro agropecuario es muy joven para Colombia y los balances e indicadores sobre sectores cultivados y protegidos mediante la compra de seguros en minimo, en comparacion con paises como Chile, Venezuela y Brasil, y que decir de Canada, Estados Unidos y Mexico. Dada esta situacion, el articulo analiza las razones por las cuales el productor agropecuario colombiano no traslada los riesgos que afrontan sus procesos productivos a las companias aseguradoras. De igual manera, estudia los motivos que desestimulan la oferta de seguros agropecuarios por parte de las aseguradoras.
