Depuis les années 1910, la production des statistiques socioprofessionnelles est le fait d’une instance spécialisée de l’État argentin. Dans cet article, on analyse certains instruments de quantification appliqués par les experts de la Division statistique du Département national du travail pour exprimer formellement la vulnérabilité de la situation du travailleur en Argentine pendant le période 1930-1943, tout en explorant les réseaux sociaux qui font usage de ces quantifications. Même en l’absence de consensus solides, les catégories statistiques ont renseigné les débats politiques axés sur des initiatives gouvernementales relatives à la protection sociale des travailleurs. Cet article se propose de déterminer l’influence des outils quantitatifs au cours de ces discussions, leur incorporation aux pratiques politiques des organisations corporatives et le rôle qu’ils ont joué dans l’établissement de liens entre ces acteurs et l’État.
