Apres un resume du contexte legal canadien, les auteures qui travaillent dans un hopital de psychiatrie legale et en detention, discutent du processus d’evaluation des accuses qui ont commis un crime intrafamilial grave. Meme si le processus est le meme que pour l’evaluation d’accuses ayant commis d’autres types de delits, on retrouve des caracteristiques specifiques au crime intrafamilial dont les contacts avec les membres de la famille qui sont souvent les victimes et des sources potentielles de soutien.
