Abstract
This paper employs social and spiritual capital theory to explore the development and success of a ministry of hospitality exercised in the context of rural parish ministry in Newfoundland. The theory is explored through a series of three focus groups, two conducted with guests and one with the volunteers who operate the ministry. The data support the hypothesis that both guests and volunteers receive social and spiritual benefits from their engagement with this ministry of hospitality.
